Laws Whiskey Releases Limited Edition Bourbon in Support of Colorado Restaurant Response

All proceeds donated to Colorado Restaurant Response; a million-dollar regional COVID-19 response effort aimed at creating jobs and providing hunger relief

A limited edition bourbon from Laws Whiskey hits liquor store shelves in the Denver metro area today with all proceeds going to support Colorado Restaurant Response.

This unique single barrel bourbon has been aged 5 ½ years and has flavors of wildflower honey, butterscotch and orange peel will also be available for sale at participating Colorado Restaurant Response restaurants in May including Chook Charcoal Chicken, Kachina Cantina, Mercantile Dining & Provision, Morin and Rioja.

“These restaurants took immediate action to keep people employed and feed those in need,” Said Al Laws, Founder and CEO of Laws Whiskey House. “CRR serves 4,000 meals per day to people who really need them, we have to support that. Everyone has to support this effort. CRR is really doing something special and making a big impact for many people in need and we found a special barrel worthy of the work.”

Colorado Restaurant Response’s donation-based model, uses funding to re-hire and keep restaurant workers employed, preparing ready-to-eat, nutritious meals. Meals are distributed to food-insecure families, unemployed service workers and frontline workers in partnership with the Denver Metro Emergency Food Network and Bondadosa. All funding goes toward food, utilities and paying hourly restaurant workers and drivers.

Jen Jasinski of Rioja preps meals for frontline healthcare workers.

Since launching at the end of March, Colorado Restaurant Response has grown to partner with six restaurant kitchens serving over 3,000 meals per day. So far, the initiative has delivered more than 100,000 meals and continues to serve Colorado communities in need.
