“These restaurants took immediate action to keep people employed and feed those in need,” Said Al Laws, Founder and CEO of Laws Whiskey House. “CRR serves 4,000 meals per day to people who really need them, we have to support that. Colorado Restaurant Response’s donation-based model, uses funding to re-hire and keep restaurant workers employed, preparing ready-to-eat, nutritious meals. Meals are distributed to food-insecure families, unemployed service workers and frontline workers in partnership with the Denver Metro Emergency Food Network and Bondadosa. All funding goes toward food, utilities and paying hourly restaurant workers and drivers.
Since launching at the end of March, Colorado Restaurant Response has grown to partner with six restaurant kitchens serving over 3,000 meals per day. So far, the initiative has delivered more than 100,000 meals and continues to serve Colorado communities in need.
