LAWS AND BEAR CREEK DISTILLERY TEAM UP To Support Positive Change in Our Neighborhood

On Friday, May 19th, Laws Whiskey House released a collaboration wheat whiskey that was 5 years in the making. The Colorado Distillers Collaboration Straight Wheat Whiskey was made by seven different distilleries, including Laws Whiskey House.

The purpose of this unique collaboration whiskey was to celebrate the camaraderie within the Colorado distilling industry and to give back to our local Colorado communities. Today, we’re pleased to announce the recipient of our contribution is Urban Peak. Read more about the work this organization is doing to support youth experiencing homelessness below.

100% OF SALES CONTRIBUTED

Thanks to support and generosity of our suppliers, 100% of the materials from this project were donated including grain, barrels, bottles, corks, and labels. This means that we could contribute 100% of the sales of this whiskey to causes selected by each participating distillery. Huge thanks to Atlas Barrel Company, Canton, Colorado Malting Company, Columbine Label Company, Independent Stave Company, O-I Glass, and Tapi Group.

SOLD OUT IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS, THANKS TO YOU

The overwhelming support and excitement we received from this release blew away our expectations. We take pride in announcing that all 105 available bottles were sold out within a single day. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us, bought a bottle, and embraced this labor of love. We stand humbled and inspired, knowing that our dedication to the craft and commitment to our community have been wholeheartedly embraced. Thank you to everyone who supported this release.

$15,000 RAISED BETWEEN LAWS WHISKEY HOUSE AND BEAR CREEK DISTILLERY

Our friends and neighbors at Bear Creek Distillery also chose to donate to Urban Peak and together, we were able to present a check to them for $15,000 on the site of their new campus.

ABOUT URBAN PEAK

In 1998, Urban Peak opened Colorado’s first and only licensed shelter for youth experiencing homelessness. Since then, Urban Peak has expanded the shelter, acquired three apartment complexes for transitional youth housing and renovated space downtown for the Drop-In Center and Outreach team.  Ending youth homelessness changes trajectories, saves lives, and creates lasting community impact. As neighbors, we have seen firsthand the good their incredible work can do.

In January, Urban Peak embarked on a groundbreaking journey in our shared neighborhood, commencing the construction of a new campus at their current shelter location. This campus will amplify their ability to serve youth experiencing homelessness, increasing the shelter’s capacity from 30 residents to an incredible 136. This new shelter will incorporate on-site case management and health services, ensuring comprehensive care for those in need.

WHISKEY MADE FOR GOOD

The collective efforts of 291 Colorado Whiskey, Bear Creek Distillery, Laws Whiskey House, Old Elk Distillery, State 38 Distilling, Wood’s High Mountain Distillery and Woody Creek Distillers, and our supportive community serve as a testament to the profound impact that can be achieved when compassionate hearts unite.
