INTRODUCING MOSAIC: THE NEWEST EXPRESSION IN OUR ORIGINS SERIES
At Laws Whiskey House, the ORIGINS Series represents our most intentional and exploratory work, whiskeys that honor our earliest foundations while pushing our craft forward. Today, we’re excited to unveil the newest expression in our ORIGINS Series: MOSAIC, an American Single Malt crafted from a marriage of eight uniquely expressive malt barrels.
Each of these barrels stands as its own creative piece, shaped by a variety of specialty malts. Brought together, they form a whiskey that’s layered, balanced, and deeply character-driven. True to its name, MOSAIC unites distinct elements into a harmonious whole.
A VERTICAL MARRIAGE OF DISTINCTIVE MALTS
MOSAIC originates from eight barrels made from mashbills featuring a range of specialty malts, including:
- Toasted malt
- Colorado-grown, malted four-row Scottish barley
- Oak-smoked malt using Laws’ own barrel staves
- Peat-smoked malt
- Crystal and chocolate malt
These components matured across an eclectic lineup of casks, new American oak (#3 char), used San Luis Valley Rye barrels, re-barreled Laws brandy casks, and a French oak Armagnac barrel. The final composition includes:
38% nine-year-old barrels
44% seven-year-old barrels
18% eight-year-old barrels
A CONTINUING LEGACY: THE ORIGINS SERIES
MOSAIC continues the legacy of the ORIGINS Series, a collection rooted in our beginning. In 2011, we set aside 28 barrels from our first spirit runs, each marked with the word ORIGINS. These early barrels, many funded by friends and family, embodied the foundation of what Laws Whiskey House would become.
The first public release arrived in December 2020 with ORIGINS Barrel #9, the oldest whiskey we had ever bottled at the time. In 2021, the 10-year anniversary release, ORIGINS X, was crafted from the final three barrels of that original 2011 set.
In the years that followed, the ORIGINS Series evolved into an annual exploration of depth, age, and Colorado-grown grain:
- 2022 – INTENTION: The first vertical marriage of our Four Grain Bourbon.
- 2023 – CORNERSTONE: A vertical marriage of San Luis Valley Rye that balanced bright youth with aged complexity.
- 2024 – SUPER WHEATER: A high-wheat expression blending Four Grain Bourbon with 100% Centennial Wheat whiskey to highlight Colorado’s terroir.
And now, in 2025, MOSAIC embraces the passage of the American Single Malt Act, honoring heritage while showcasing the creativity and individuality that define the category.

Flavor: lightly phenolic and medicinal notes layered with brown sugar, cocoa, mature oak, and grapefruit peel
