We’re thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Collaboration series: our Four Grain Bourbon finished in Yeti beer barrels. This release is a testament to the ongoing partnership between Laws Whiskey House and Great Divide Brewing Co., and it embodies the spirit of collaboration, craftsmanship, and creativity we’ve shared over the past decade.
This unique whiskey began its journey in a Laws Bourbon barrel, which was later used to age Great Divide’s Yeti Imperial Stout. After the stout maturation, we reclaimed the barrel to further age our bourbon. The result? A whiskey that bridges the worlds of bourbon and craft beer, capturing the essence of both in every sip.
THE JOURNEY: FROM 2014 TO TODAY
Our story with Great Divide Brewing began back in the winter of 2014, when they selected our first 12 used barrels for a unique barrel-aging project. Those barrels helped create the unforgettable barrel-aged Yeti Imperial Stout, a fan favorite for its rich, roasted character. Now, ten years later, we honor that first project with a release that combines the flavors of our bourbon and Great Divide’s legendary stout in a way that only time and shared passion could achieve.
TASTING NOTES: A UNIQUE FLAVOR EXPERIENCE
Our Four Grain Bourbon finished in used beer barrels is a sensory adventure. It opens with a floral and hoppy nose, where our bourbon’s traditional caramel tones meld with the dark, roasted malt notes of the Yeti Imperial Stout. On the palate, you’ll find a malt sweetness upfront that transitions to a delightfully dry finish, showcasing the complex interaction between the bourbon and stout influences. This release is for those who love both fine whiskey and craft beer – an experience as complex and satisfying as our partnership with Great Divide.
